I'm Hans Lin, a Registered Psychotherapist. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western University.
I work with children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families. Anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, self-esteem, behavioural concerns, family conflict, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties. Most of what brings people to therapy comes back to one thing: connection, and how to rebuild it when it's frayed.
Before joining Boyd Therapy and Wellness, I provided intensive community-based mental health services to children, youth, and families facing complex challenges. That work taught me how to move with people through crisis and out the other side, not around it.
Therapy works when the relationship is solid. That's where I start with everyone I see. No performance, no pressure to have it figured out before you walk in.
With kids and teens, I focus on trust first. Once that's there, we build emotional awareness, coping skills, and the confidence to handle what's hard.
With parents, I offer coaching that helps you understand what's underneath your kid's behaviour, strengthen the attachment, and respond with more confidence and less guesswork.
With couples, I draw on Gottman Method training (Levels 1 and 2) to help you see the patterns driving your conflict and rebuild the friendship underneath the relationship.
My approach is collaborative and evidence-based. I draw from CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Gottman Method, Motivational Interviewing, and family systems work, depending on what's actually going to help you.
If you're looking for support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, I'm glad you're here.
